All too often we are far too hard on ourselves. We call ourselves names and prioritize ourselves less; we deny our talents and abilities and see ourselves as failures, as unimportant and unworthy – and many a time that we’re simply “not good enough.”
My friends for which this thinking is all too familiar: what you are doing is discounting the positives – your positives; you are damaging your own self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth – and that’s a dangerous place to be. Because nobody is doing this to you; you are doing this to you.
When you are feeling this way, I encourage you entertain the following: if your best friend looked at the put downs you feed yourself and the manner of which you do, how would they feel? How about your siblings? Parents? Family members, coworkers, neighbors – anyone who loves you and knows you BEST. If they heard the way you felt about yourself, what would they say? Think about that for a minute. Be honest. Because I guarantee you, when you change the perspective of how YOU view yourself, your life will change.
In case you need to hear it today:
You are enough.
You are worthy.
You deserve the best of what life has to offer.
And you are loved.
